Many of us in the Oklahoma City area know or know of Martha Burger, Senior Vice President, Chesapeake Energy, and all-around civic leader and promoter of education. This new mentoring program is another outstanding way she inspires and helps Oklahoma youth. In addition, this model is adaptable in other college communities.
Excerpts from the OSU-OKC website:
"Martha Burger Student Mentoring Program"
"Are you interested in helping new students learn the ropes on campus? Are you interested in tutoring fellow students?"
"Become a mentor in the Martha Burger Student Mentoring Program!"
"The program begins in August 2013. OSU-Oklahoma City is currently searching for qualified students who can serve as mentors to incoming freshman and help them ease into college life. Selected participants will serve as mentors for two to three students for a minimum of 30 minutes per student per week."
